  2. Same Lingual, Opposite Buccal — objects on the buccal move in the SAME direction as the tube shift
  3. Same Lingual, Opposite Buccal — lingual objects move opposite to the tube, buccal objects move same
  4. SLOB refers to the shape of roots, not their position
Show answer and explanation

Correct answer: A. Same Lingual, Opposite Buccal — objects on the lingual move with the tube shift, buccal objects move opposite

SLOB Rule: Same Lingual, Opposite Buccal. When the X-ray tube is shifted (horizontally), an object on the LINGUAL (palatal) side moves in the SAME direction as the tube shift, while an object on the BUCCAL side moves in the OPPOSITE direction to the tube shift. This rule is used to determine the bucco-lingual position of objects (root canals, calcifications, impacted teeth, foreign bodies) using two periapical exposures taken at different horizontal angles.
