Corticosteroids cause HYPERGLYCEMIA (not hypoglycemia) by promoting gluconeogenesis and insulin resistance. Other effects: osteoporosis, immunosuppression, hypertension, Cushing features, weight gain. Hypoglycemia is caused by insulin or oral hypoglycemic agents.
