INBDE test-day checklist and rules
Most test-day problems are avoidable. Use this checklist, built from the official candidate rules.
Before the day
- Make sure the name on both IDs matches your application exactly. A mismatch can mean you are turned away and lose your fees.
- Bring two original, current IDs: a primary government-issued photo ID with your name and signature, and a secondary ID with your name and signature.
- Both days must be at the same test center, and Day 2 must fall within 7 days of Day 1.
- Consider Prometric’s Test Drive (about 30 minutes, including check-in and a 15-minute sample test) so nothing is new on exam morning.
- Know the route and parking. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late and are refused entry, you forfeit the testing fee.
At check-in
- Expect biometric capture and a scan for electronic devices.
- Personal items go in a locker (space is limited). Notes and electronics must not enter the secure testing area.
- Not allowed in the room: watches or other timing devices (a timer appears on screen), food, candy, gum and drinks unless approved, jewelry other than wedding and engagement rings, and headphones or earplugs not provided or approved.
During the exam
- You receive two note boards and fine-tip markers. You may not write on them before the test starts or during scheduled breaks.
- Items appear one at a time. The clock pauses while an item loads.
- The tutorial at the start of each day is optional and does not use exam time.
- Scheduled breaks are optional. Anything outside them is an unscheduled break: during one you may not access your belongings or lockers, study, use a phone, eat or drink, or leave the test center. Breaking these rules can lead to voided results and an extra waiting period.
- Do not touch the monitor.
A simple personal checklist
- Both IDs, names matching the application.
- Confirmation email with test center address and times.
- Sleep: protect the two nights before each day.
- Plan how you will use each break (restroom, snack and water in your locker, short walk).
- Pacing targets for each section from our exam format page.
